SEATTLE — Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked his former employer with a metal pipe Wednesday morning in the Georgetown neighborhood.

Police tweeted about the incident around 10: 15 a.m.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said, but serious leg injuries.

According to police, the suspect was fired from his job as a forklift operator at a granite and tile supplier Tuesday. When the manager arrived at work Wednesday, he was hit from behind with a metal pipe.

The suspect tried to continue attack, police said, but other employees came out to stop him.

“I mean who knows how far it would have gone otherwise,” an employee said. “It’s pretty brazen in broad daylight.”

Police have identified the former employee and are currently looking for him.
