Ocean Township Patrolman Kyle Flatt stopped the car and saw a man “halfway through the vehicle’s windshield.”

The person had been lodged there for at least a mile and a half, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, 61-year-old Kenneth C. Moeller, was seriously hurt and flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he is in critical condition.

Police arrested Marcos A. Ortega, 33, after he failed sobriety tests at the scene, police said. He faces charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash and causing serious bodily injury to another while driving under the influence.

Investigators said Ortega was driving north on Route 9 when he allegedly crossed into the shoulder, struck the pedestrian and kept driving until he was stopped by police.

lets hope the older person will be ok soon , but keep this drunk in jail til the person he hit is out of the hospital and is doing well , but have this drunk go to weekly AA meetings forlife and no license for five years after his jail time or prison time . lets hope this drunk had insurance . let the person that he hit sue for ;lost wages and all that .

    what a dick!
let’s not think about legalizing marijuana since alcohol is doing a great job of killing americans and reducing the population relying on gov benefits (retirement). THis world is so fucked up its beyond belief.

What does legalizing marijuana have do with a drunk driver hitting a person and not stopping, have you ever heard of a person smoking out and hitting someone and hurting them, or raping/ robbing someone, the worst we do is kill a box of Captain Crunch! LOL Come on people lets get real here, If you have smoked it you know what I am talking about, people who make comments likes that have never tried marijuana. This is coming from someone who is a Medical Marijuana Patient ,have been since 1999 when voters made Medical Marijuana legal, I live in one of the two states that also have legalized retail marijuana

How can a man lying on the hood of a car drive down the street?
    Maybe try proofing before printing?
