Deputies: Man exposed himself to young girls on church playground

SNOHOMISH COUNTY -- Police arrested a 59-year-old man Saturday for allegedly exposing himself to two young girls playing on a church playground after he asked the girls if they could "keep a secret," the Snohomish County Sheriff's office said.

Snohomish County sheriff's deputies were called around 5:30 p.m. Saturday to the Seven Lakes Baptist Church in the 17000 block of E. Lake Goodwin Road with reports of a man exposing himself to church members.

Once on scene, deputies contacted a church elder who identified three girls, two 11 years olds and a 13-year-old, who were allegedly victimized by the suspect.

The two 11-year-old girls  told deputies they were playing on the swing-set located behind the church when the suspect approached them and asked if they "can keep a secret," a police report shows. The suspect then unzipped his pants and exposed himself to the girls before walking away toward the church.

The girls were "visibly shaken" from the incident, according to the police report.

Once inside, the suspect approached the 13-year-old girl who was working inside the room and also asked her if she could keep a secret. The girl told police the man allegedly reached into his pants and attempted to expose himself, but she walked away before that could happen, deputies said.

Police contacted the suspect, who allegedly admitted to exposing himself. He was arrested for suspicion of indecent exposure and transported to the Snohomish County Jail.

It was not immediately known why the suspect was on church grounds, or if he was a regular attendee of the church.
