SPD: Witnesses catch man breaking into car, hold him until police arrive

SEATTLE -- Two people spotted a man breaking into a car Saturday in the University District and detained him until police arrived.

According to Seattle police, officers were called to Northeast 64th Street and Brooklyn Avenue Northeast on Saturday morning. Two witnesses said they saw the man breaking into a car and decided to do something about it.

Officers discovered the 30-year-old suspect had two fugitive warrants out of Oregon for larceny and identity theft.

Police booked the man into King County Jail for the warrants and car prowling.
