Marshawn Lynch's career-high 4 touchdowns lead Seahawks to victory against Giants 38 - 17

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New York Giants 38 – 17 in a soggy game Sunday at CenturyLink Field.

Russell Wilson was quick on his feet and Marshawn Lynch ran for a career-high four touchdowns.

A strong start

The Seahawks were off to a strong start  against the Giants.

Quarterback Russell Wilson looked solid as he quickly led the team 80-yards down the filed in just six plays.

The drive was capped off by a Marshawn Lynch rush for a touchdown.

But then…

On the Hawks’ next drive, Wilson threw his first interception of the game.

The Giants capitalized on the good field position (Seahawks 24) and scored a touchdown on Eli Manning’s short throw to Preston Parker. It was all tied at 7 – 7.

The Seahawks didn’t get far on their next drive and punted. Manning made a huge 44-yard pass to Odell Beckham. That set up the Giants for a 3-yard touchdown. They led 14 – 7.

Then the Hawks got the ball back and started driving, but on the third play Robert Turbin fumbled the ball. The Giants recovered but, fortunately for Seattle, did not get any points off the turnover.

Movin’ the ball

Wilson was quick on his feet all day -- even running 26 yards to set up a Hawks score. Lynch punched it into the end zone for his second TD of the game.

The Giants got the ball back inside the 2-minute warning and managed to convert a 41-yard field goal giving them a 3-point lead at halftime.

In the first drive of the second half, another rare interception by Russell Wilson on a deep pass intended for Doug Baldwin.

A strong finish

Later, the Seahawks drove all the way to the Giants’ 1-yard line, but penalties pushed them back and they settled for a field goal to tie the game at 17.

From there on out it was all Seahawks.

Earl Thomas intercepted Manning’s pass and set up the Seahawks for Marhsawn Lynch’s third touchdown of the game, a 3-yard run up the middle.

The Giants quickly went three and out and we got a glimpse of the Hawks we remember. A 53-year drive capped off by a FOURTH Beast Mode touchdown -- that’s a career-high for Lynch.

For the Giants, it was their last chance to stay in the game. But they couldn’t convert on 4th down and turned the ball over.

Seattle became relentless. Christine Michael carried the ball 45 yards and set up Russell Wilson who ran the ball 1-yard on the next play for another touchdown.

It seemed nothing could go right for the Giants. They fumbled the ball with 2:26 left in the game and Seattle ran out the clock.

Hawks win!
