Truck driver hurt when tree falls on semi along SR 530 near Oso

OSO — One man was critically hurt when a tree fell on a semi during a windstorm on SR 530 near Oso.

The driver was trapped inside the cab until authorities arrived at the scene, according to the Washington State Patrol. That person was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Trooper Mark Francis tweeted this photo shortly before 4:00 p.m. Thursday.

The road was fully blocked, but troopers said traffic would be alternating around the accident starting at 5:00 p.m.
