HAYFIELD, United Kingdom –The tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo battered much of the UK earlier this week leaving widespread damage in its wake.

Wild winds battered the Derbyshire Peak District causing an incredible phenomenon, a backward flowing waterfall.

The video, posted on YouTube, shows the winds whipping the water back up the cliff and into the air.

Rod Kirkpatrick posted the video.

“The river Kinder is stopped in its tracks as it is blown back up onto Kinder Scout Plateau at the point where it would normally cascade 80ft down Kinder Downfall,” wrote Kirkpatrick on YouTube.

Winds were clocked at more than 88 mph at the peak of the storm.
