Historic ships visit Bremerton

BREMERTON - A large slice of Puget Sound nautical history is on display this week at the Bremerton Harborside Marina, the Kitsap Sun reported. Some of the boats docked include the MV Kirkland, and the El Primero, an 1893 yacht which its owners say carried four differents presidents, during its time.

Other ships include the Comanche, a 1944 tug boat, and a former Coast Guard cutter; the MV Northland, a 1930s-era super yacht, the tugboat Dominion, and the floating museum the USS Turner Joy.

This is the last week that for locals to see the Comanche until spring, the paper reported. On Saturday the tug head to Tacoama for the winter. The Historic Ship Week boats are on display through Saturday.
