PRESTON — Police are investigating a three-car injury crash in Preston, Wash., that has caused major backups on Interstate 90.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a serious, head-on collision blocked some lanes of traffic around 1 p.m. on I-90.  The two left lanes of westbound I-90 were blocked, troopers said, causing a two-mile backup.

At least two people were transported to a hospital, officials said.

The two lanes were expected to be blocked until at least 3:30 p.m.

This is the second major accident in Preston in less than a month, officials said.

The speed limit between exits 17 through 32 on I90 should be lowered from 70 mph to 60 mph, that section is no longer “rural interstate”. It won’t slow truck traffic because they are only suppose to be going 60 mph through that section anyway.
