SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — A student at Mount Si High School snapped this photo of a dead rat  found under a science desk.

It’s a photo kids are sharing on social media, but which is raising concerns among parents.

The Snoqualmie Valley School District says it’s true — a dead rat was found in the science room.

Parents say they’re concerned this could be a sign of a bigger problem.

“There probably is more. I don’t think you can live out here and not expect to have that type of problem.  It’s very scary because its a huge health concern,” said one mother.

The district brought in a pest control expert Thursday to thoroughly inspect the building. They found no evidence of an infestation or other pests.

While the school plans to meet with teachers to go over rodent prevention tips, a bigger meeting lies ahead.

In just one week, the school board will decide whether the option to rebuild the current high school will appear on the ballot, along with potential upgrades to other facilities.
