19-year-old charged with murder in Pioneer Square shooting case

SEATTLE -- A 19-year-old man wanted in connection a fatal shooting at 2nd Avenue and Yesler Way is now charged with 1st degree murder.

Kenneth B. Jones Jr. was located in Federal Way after a multi-agency manhunt that began Wednesday following the shooting. He was arrested and booked into King County Jail. He is being held in lieu of $2 million bail.

According to police, the suspect opened fire on a man on the street before fleeing the scene. The victim later died at Harborview Medical Center.

Seattle police are still investigating the case, and it is not yet known if the suspect had any relationship with the victim.

Jones next court appearance is scheduled for October 16th.
