Teen stabbed in Tukwila park; suspect arrested

TUKWILA -- Police arrested a man accused of stabbing a 16-year-old boy in a Tukwila park.

According to Tukwila police, someone flagged down an officer just before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and said there was an altercation at Cascade View Park. The officer was told someone had been stabbed and the suspect was fleeing the scene.

Police said the officer found the suspect running through a parking lot on the 3700 block of S. 144th Street. The officer took the suspect into custody and recovered the knife.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Officials said he had been stabbed in the chest.

Witnesses told police there was a "verbal altercation that quickly escalated to a physical fight."
