Report: Man, woman struck by train on bridge in Yakima

YAKIMA -- A man and woman estimated to be in theirs 30s were struck by a train Tuesday afternoon on a North Sixth Avenue bridge, the Yakima Herald-Republic reported.

The newspaper said the man was in critical condition and the woman in serious condition, according to preliminary information from authorities at the scene.

The paper said that the two were crossing a bridge that spans the Naches River and the Yakima Greenway’s pathway when they were struck by a southbound engine pulling four cars.
