New England Patriots v Kanas City Chiefs

(CNN) – Husain Abdullah can kneel and pray pretty much anywhere in America he wants – except, perhaps, for an NFL end zone.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ safety and devout Muslim was flagged for “unsportsmanlike conduct” after sliding to his knees in prayer to celebrate a touchdown Monday night.

After the game, Abdullah told reporters that he might have been penalized because he slid and celebrated too excitedly, not because of the prayer. The safety said he told himself before the play that if he scored a touchdown he would “prostrate before God in the end zone.”

“I got a little too excited,” Abdullah said, according to ESPN. “So, I think it was because of the slide.”

Abdullah’s coach, Andy Reid, also said Monday that the referees told him the slide, not the prayer, led to the penalty.

The NFL rulebook states:

Players are prohibited from engaging in any celebrations or demonstrations while on the ground. A celebration or demonstration shall be deemed excessive or prolonged if a player continues to celebrate or demonstrate after a warning from an official.”

But Muslims online flagged NFL referees for having a double standard.

Others pointed out that Tim Tebow, an evangelical Christian, was never penalized for “Tebowing” – kneeling in prayer – during games.

In 2011, CNN covered Abdullah’s decision to fast for Ramadan during the grueling NFL training camp.

We wouldn’t have problems like this and more seriously, murder by decapitation, if we just deported these muslims. I’ve read Japan won’t tolerate them… perhaps, they’re a bit brighter than we are.

      • Alice Smith

I’m no troll. You obviously don’t get around the net much, nor, talk to people outside of your little circle to realize that Americans and Europeans are waking up to the fact that decapitation IS how muslims treat those that refuse to bow to their demonic god. Here’s a challenge, just do some general google searching. You’ll quickly find out my views are widely expressed all over various media sites.

That is a really bigoted and unAmerican statement. This country was founded on the religious freedom, so why would we deport people based on their religion? What about natural born citizens that are practicing Muslims (like the majority of the world)? Maybe we should put them in internment camps like the Japanese in WWII…or maybe camps with ovens like Germany did at that time; good plans, Alice?

I agree. Who ARE these people, pretending to be Americans? He may be different from them in some ways, but he is more like them and you, and I in the fears we have, the joys, all the feelings that all human beings possess. And that, my friend, is what these people are REALLY afraid of.

        • Alice Smith

You don’t think it’s “bigoted” to cut off an innocent person’s head because they refuse to convert to islam? What is un-American, are the traitors within this country that are allowing alien invaders hell bent on taking off the heads of all of those that refuse to convert to islam. May I suggest you study our Constitution and Bill of Rights along with American history back to our beginnings. Your viewpoint is what is un-American and dangerous. And no, I don’t believe they should be put into camps thus forcing the American tax payer into supporting them. They should NOT be allowed to enter in the first place and should be sent back to where ever they came from.

And Alice, I suggest you be sent back to whatever slime-hole you slithered out of also. The sooner the better.

In #islam it is #sacreligious to pray to #Allah in recognition of gratitude… instead they shall say ‘Allah Akbar’

    #muslims pray 5 times a day.

It is also sacrilegious to convert others to Islam…that they may come to Allah of their own free will.

This man who prays before an audience is not a #muslim but an #infidel…he prays for his own glory not that of, Allah.

Wasn’t there a song “Poor Alice”? A fitting tribute to the once lucid mind that Alice Smith once possessed. So sad she’s slipped away into the babble world of bigotry, religious persecution and ignorance of the American constitution. We can only hope her song ends soon.
