Nearly 1,000 volunteers take part in Seattle Pacific University’s day of community service

SEATTLE — Nearly 1,000 Seattle Pacific University students, faculty and staff took part in a day of community service on Saturday.

They volunteered at more than 30 locations around Seattle cleaning up parks, removing invasive plants in local creeks, painting rooms in homeless shelters and more.

The annual event called City Quest introduces new students to SPU’s community engagement.

The school’s fall quarter starts on Monday.
