Gig Harbor City Council passes 12-month moratorium on recreational marijuana

GIG HARBOR, Wash. -- The Gig Harbor City Council, on a 6-1 vote, approved a 12-month moratorium Monday night on recreational marijuana within the city limits, The News Tribune reported.

The move comes as the city of Fife's ban on marijuana businesses is likely to go all the way to the state Supreme Court.

Puyallup and other cities have also passed a series of moratoriums.
