'Armed and dangerous' stabbing suspect turns himself in

SEQUIM -- A man  accused of stabbing a woman Saturday afternoon turned himself in to police the following day, authorities said.

Witnesses told sheriff's deputies they saw Deeon Gonzales arguing with a woman who was holding their child. The witness said they looked away for a moment, then heard a scream and saw the suspect stab the victim several times.

That person told police that Gonzales was holding the baby while he stabbed the woman.

The victim was taken to Olympic Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown.

The child was found unharmed inside a nearby residence.

Gonzales was booked into the Clallam County  Corrections Facility for attempted murder.
