'Oso Tribute Night' a rousing success at Arlington High football game

ARLINGTON, Wash. -- Monday marks six months since a massive mudslide devastated the town of Oso, and residents are amazed by how far their small community has come.

Just by looking at before and after pictures, it's easy to see the tremendous progress that's been made.

On Friday night, the communities that surround Oso came together to celebrate that progress, with a special tribute during Arlington High School's varsity football game.

And it wasn't just any celebration.

The Seahawks, Sea Gals, and Blue Thunder drumline were in attendance as Arlington played on their brand new football field, which was made possible thanks to a $225,000 grant from the Seahawks and ESPN.

Q13 FOX News was there as the school received their big check.

Arlington's opponent, Eastside Catholic, didn't show up empty-handed to the game. They donated the thousands of dollars they raised earlier this year by selling "Oso Strong" T-shirts.

The donation will go toward Arlington's athletic programs.
