Lakewood council approves $20 vehicle license fee that will start in March

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood City Council has voted 6-1 to enact a $20 vehicle license fee to help pay for street repairs and transportation needs.

The vehicle licensing fee, which will kick in next March, is expected to generate $4 million between 2015 and 2020 and will be used for “much-needed improvements to city streets and roads,” the city said.

The City Council took the vote Monday night.
