Police: Teen driver suspected in Renton hit-and-run

RENTON -- Police are in contact with a 16-year-old male who is a suspect in the hit-and-run crash that critically injured a 17-year-old boy Sunday in Renton.

Around 5:40 p.m. Sunday, police received calls of a hit-and-run in the 4200 block of NE 1st Place in Renton, Renton police said. Police found a 17-year-old boy critically injured at the scene. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Witnesses told police the driver of a Dodge Magnum crashed into the boy, and then drove off, police said. Based on witness information, officers located a 16-year-old boy suspected of driving the Dodge around 9:30 p.m., police said.

The boy has not yet been arrested.
