UPDATE: Two men arrested for deadly Tacoma shooting



TACOMA -- Police arrested two men Saturday in connection with a shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead the night before.

Officers booked two men into Pierce County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder.

According to Tacoma police, the investigation began at 9:15 p.m. when reports first came in of shots fired near South 23rd Street and South Yakima Avenue.

About 15 minutes later, a gunshot victim with life-threatening injuries was driven by friends to a downtown Jack in the Box parking lot so help could be summoned, police said.

The man, described as being about 30 years old, was rushed to Tacoma General Hospital but did not survive.

The victim's identity has not been released.
