Reports: Seahawks release QB Terrelle Pryor

RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks released backup quarterback Terrelle Pryor, according to media reports Friday night.

The Seahawks have yet to officially list any players being cut in order to make the team's 53-player roster limit by the 1 p.m. (PT) Saturday deadline set by the NFL. The Seahawks cut their roster to 75 players last week.

ESPN.com, ProFootballTalk.com and NFL.com all reported Friday night that the Hawks were cutting Pryor.

And Pryor appeared to confirm it, too, with the following tweet later Friday night:

The Seahawks obtained Pryor in April from the Oakland Raiders in return for a 2014 seventh-round draft choice.

Pryor's release leaves Tarvaris Jackson and B.J. Daniels on the roster as backups to starting quarterback Russell Wilson.
