Motorcyclist crashes into guardrail, falls 30-feet down embankment

SEATTLE -- Fire and emergency workers transported a motorcyclist who crashed into a guardrail and fell about 30 feet down an embankment to the hospital Monday.

According to the Seattle Fire Department, a motorcyclist traveling northbound on Interstate 5 crashed into a guardrail near the Swift-Albro exit ramp sometime after 11 a.m. Monday. The driver fell about 30 feet onto Swift Avenue South.

Medics called to the scene treated the motorcyclist. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center and his current condition is not known.

Washington State Patrol troopers are investigating the incident. Initial reports show the driver failed to negotiate a curve and he slammed into a guardrail, troopers said.
