Deputy accidentally hits, kills runaway horse on way to call

ARLINGTON, Wash --  A Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputy hit and killed a horse Sunday night with patrol car on the way to a call.

The sheriff’s office said the deputy was headed to a domestic violence call when he hit the horse which had escaped its enclosure and was running across the road.

The deputy  was injured, but only slightly.  The patrol car was totaled.

The crash happened in the 3900 block of Stanwood Bryant Road.
