TACOMA – One man is dead after his car went out of control and crashed in Tacoma. Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said that two cars were reportedly racing late Thursday night. One of cars lost control and crashed into a pole, fence and tree near 90th and South Hosmer St, around 10 p.m.

The man killed was a passenger in one of two cars that was believed to have been racing, Cool said. Tacoma police detectives are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s office will perform an autopsy and release the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.

If you would have read the article it’s states the man killed was a PASSENGER. How cruel of a thing to say by calling them all idiots. How about instead of being heartless you pray for their family. The man killed didn’t deserve to die. Have a little bit more compassion.

The man killed was not only a passenger, but he was a son, father, husband and brother. Have some heart! His wife and daughter along with his mother and family are hurting!

And he was far from an Idiot… he was a SGT in the Army and deployed….the driver how ever…should have known better. This he will have to live with for the rest of his life.

Even IF the passenger knew which I can almost guarantee he did…… Doesn’t mean he deserved to die! Even if it was the driver who died. Death is not something to rejoice over.
I’m a mother myslef tech geek….. You sound pretty sure of yourself that these guys were just a bunch of “idiots”! I hope for your sake your daughters don’t grow up and date some kid in highschool who does street racing….. Takes one night of her sneaking out to go hang out with her boyfriend for her to become the stupid “idiot” who was in the passenger seat!!!!
Is it smart to street race? No. Its very dangerous and lots of kids do it. But the only “idiot” here is you….. For judging someone you dont know. Never say never buddy. It can happen to anyone we love. Innocent or not!!

Driver was definitely dead. I saw it with my own eyes. I feel horrible for the family of the people who passed. Overall, seeing this scene last night puts a lot of this life in perspective. No need to be judge mental of anyone. This is just a horrible outcome to an overall split second bad decision. My thoughts and condolences go out to the families who lost their loved ones.

He wasn’t rejoicing at anyone’s death. What he stated is true. They made a bad choice that endangered lives, and thankfully no bystanders were injured as a result. Is it horrible that a passenger died? Yes, it is. I cannot imagine the pain that their family is going through. So yes, pray for the family, pray for the one who passed, prayers are definitely needed. Being upset with someone, though, who recognizes that this could have been avoided feels wrong.

The man who died was only 21 and a soldier protecting all of you who decided he is an idiot. Most importantly, he was an excellent husband and father to a one year old beautiful girl. One mistake does not take away all the good this man has done. We lost a good person who put his life on the line for all of us. He left behind a beautiful family including my cousin. His wife.

Thank you Joe… you are so right! (friend with his mother because of the Army!) He put his life on the line in ways that no one can understand unless they have been there, or have family that’s lived through it. RIP Hero….

Idiot? Who are you foul individuals to say ? Nobody is perfect and mistakes happen… unfortunately, ones that lead to death in which can no longer be changed ! He was a sweet guy who took care of his wife and baby girl who JUST turned 1. Soldier who fought for our country, in which YOU idiots live in. &The other car drove off &left him to die in his car. No information provided to detectives leading to who this other person ‘racing’ him is. But he’s foul for driving off after its almost positive he nipped this man’s vehicle which caused him to lose control!
