Sheriff's deputy totals patrol car in early morning crash

LAKE STEVENS, Wash -- A sheriff’s deputy in Snohomish county crashed early Friday morning while chasing another car.

In a written statement, Snohomish County said the deputy was trying to overtake another vehicle when he lost control of his patrol car on SR 92 near 113th Ave. NE.

The deputy hit a guardrail and a power box totaling the patrol car. The deputy wasn’t hurt.

The whole thing happened around 1:45 a.m. and no one else was involved in the crash.

Per county police the crash is now under investigation internally. The name of the deputy was not released.
