SEATTLE -- Here's something your kids are sure to love: watching a mechanical engineer demonstrate the "Atlas Ascender" and fly high into the iconic arches!

It's part of the first Engineer It! Weekend, and that means parents and kids can get hands-on with all sorts of activities while interacting with professional engineers and surveyors. It's a great way to let kids explore and problem-solve, and get excited about science!

The "Atlas Ascender" is a great example of that, and co-inventor Nate Ball shows us how it works, and why it's now being used in the military in things like helicopter rescues. Watch the video to see more!

Engineer It! runs Friday August 22nd and Saturday August 23rd at Seattle's Pacific Science Center. Click HERE for more details!
