MOUNT VERNON — A teenage driver was seriously hurt in a high-speed crash Thursday afternoon on I-5.

Troopers say the driver was heading north on I-5 near College Way around 1:30 p.m. when he swerved and struck a tree — ripping the car in half.

The driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

WSP says speed was likely a factor, but the crash is still under investigation.

No further information was immediately available.

I know, this boy was just soooooooooooooo good, it was scary…………….right???? Oh well, one day, when I wakes up, he will find the old adage……………’Speed Kills’, is for him as well as anyone else who drives the Highways of this land. I’ll wager he’s just a tad more cautious when he finally get’s out of the hospital, and IF, he’s able to drive again.
