Victim beat, carjacked at Golden Gardens; police looking for suspects

SEATTLE -- Police are looking for a group of four men who carjacked a victim at gunpoint while he was stepping into his car late Monday night at Golden Gardens Park.

According to police, the victim was searching his pockets for car keys around 11:20 p.m. Monday at Seattle's popular summertime destination, Golden Gardens,  when he was approached by a group of four men. The men allegedly asked to use his cellphone, and when the victim refused, a suspect hit him in the head and pulled out a gun.

The suspect demanded the victim's wallet keys and cellphone, police said. They then stepped into the victim's 2008 Honda Accord and took off.

The victim managed to flag down a passerby and call police. Officers called to the scene weren't able to locate a suspect.

Detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information on the carjacking or possible suspects involved is encouraged to call 911.
