State Patrol lieutenant uses 30-foot custom RV as patrol car, pulls over and arrests suspected drunk driver

BELLEVUE, Wash – A Washington State Patrol lieutenant used a 36-foot motorhome to pull over and arrest a suspected drunk driver earlier this month.
The lieutenant was driving the WSP Impaired Driving Unit, a custom motorhome specially retrofitted as a mobile DUI processing center and command post, back to the Bellevue district office around 3:00 a.m. August 9th.
The lieutenant exited I-90 onto 156th when he said he spotted a Honda Accord driving erratically.
Since there were no patrol units in the area and the motorhome was equipped with emergency lights, the lieutenant moved in and pulled over the driver himself.
WSP said the driver, a 28-year-old man, was arrested and eventually booked into jail.
No word on whether the lieutenant transported him there in the RV.
