FUGITIVE CAPTURED August 15, 2014 —
The Yakima County Violent Crimes Task Force says Derek Gray was arested in Portland, Oregon on Friday and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.


An escaped inmate is on the run in Yakima County.

Derek Gray was serving time for residential burglary, forgery, and drugs.

He was allowed work-release but when he left jail to go to his job last week, he never came back.

Now, he has a felony warrant for escape.

Officers think Gray could be in the Medford, Ore., area now.

That’s where he grew up and still has family and friends there.

He also has ties to Walla Walla and the Tri-Cities.

Gray is 21 years old and 6-foot-2.
