Police say a man attacked his sister with a paddle, then kept officers at bay for hours

SEATTLE – A man accused of attacking his sister with a boat paddle was arrested early Thursday morning at his home in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.

Police said officers were called to the home near 20th Ave S and South Lucile Street around 6:30pm.

When officers arrived the man reportedly barricaded himself inside and wouldn’t come out.

It took negotiators more than six hours to get the man to surrender.

The man has been booked into jail and could face domestic violence charges.
