'Roscoe Bandit' robber hit two Seattle banks in 2 days

SEATTLE -- The FBI is seeking information on a man they believe has robbed at least two different banks in the last three days here in Seattle.

The man, dubbed the "Roscoe Bandit" by the FBI robbed, the HomeStree Bank on Capitol Hill Monday and the Wells Fargo Bank in Belletown Tuesday, investigators said. FBI investigators believe he may hit another bank in the area soon.

The man is a light-complexioned black male in his late 30s, around 6'0" tall and has worn a baseball cap and sunglasses in both robberies. Both times he was armed with a handgun.

The apparently long-barreled revolver led investigators to give the bandit a nickname based on an early 19th century nickname for a handgun.

Anyone with information as to the identity or whereabouts of the suspected robber should refrain from approaching him and is urged to contact law enforcement immediately, the FBI said.

Anyone with information that can help identify this individual is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.  Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1000.00
