REUNITED: Viewer helps woman recover her missing dog after burglary

SEATTLE -- A Rainier Valley woman has been reunited with her beloved dog, after a Q13 Fox News viewer saw our story about it being apparently taken in a recent burglary.

Susan Lubang has been constantly checking the locks on her doors, since thieves broke into her home Thursday morning.

“You feel scared, you don't know what to do,” she said Monday. “Sometimes you ask yourself, why me?”

Police say the thieves got in through a second-story kitchen window. They took some electronics, clothing and shoes. They also took an 8-year-old Lhasa apso named Buboy.

“He could not have gotten out of this place, because the fence is closed all around. My guess is they carried him and jumped.”

Police say witnesses did see someone climbing over Lubang’s fence that morning, but they didn’t get a good description. Lubang doesn’t have much hope that the thieves will be caught, because burglaries are a common problem in her neighborhood. But she put pictures of her dog up throughout the area, hoping someone would recognize him and help her get him back.

“The material things can be replaced, but dogs are like family members.”

Gary Borman saw the dog's picture on Q13 Fox News, and immediately knew it was the same animal he found in his Beacon Hill neighborhood Friday night.

"I had been looking for his owner, because I knew someone was worried. My wife and I are animal lovers ourselves."

Susan is overjoyed to have Buboy back.

"It's a miracle!" she said.
