Teen girl fighting for life after stabbing, police say

REDMOND, Wash. -- A 17-year-old girl is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was allegedly stabbed by a 25-year-old man during a fight, police said.

Police responded to reports of a fight around 10:50 p.m. Friday near stores in the 15000 block of Redmond Way in Redmond. Once on scene, police detained several people that seemed to be involved in the melee, and also provided first aid to the girl who suffered stab wounds to her chest.

The 17-year-old was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Her condition was not known at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the 25-year-old is in custody for investigation of assault.

Redmond police continue to investigate the stabbing.
