7-Eleven shooter surrenders after firing shot through his truck’s windshield and into convenience store

7-11 shooterFUGITIVE CAPTURED July 16, 2014 -- The Pierce County Sheriff's Office says the man who fired through his truck windshield and into a 7-Eleven store in Spanaway surrendered on Wednesday after being featured on Q13 FOX News Friday and Washington’s Most Wanted on Saturday. He is WMW Capture #537. WANTED IN PIERCE COUNTY July 11, 2014 -- A puff of smoke shows the shot fired by man through his truck's windshield -- and into a convenience store window -- almost hitting a clerk and two customers inside. Now, Pierce County detectives need your help identifying the shooter who blasted the bullet that sent frightened victims scattering. "What's interesting about this case is the fact that we have a guy who shot his own windshield out from the inside of his truck, which must have been pretty loud,” says Pierce Co. Det. Ed Troyer. “We don't know if he did it intentionally or accidentally, but either way that bullet went through his windshield, through the front plate glass of the store, and lodged into a lottery machine, which could have just as easily been a person, then we would have had a tragedy on our hands.” In the video you see the customer in a pink jacket and hat run for her life to the back of the counter, where she crouches down to hide in case there were more shots fired. The clerk ducks down a bit while grabbing the phone to call 911. You also see a tall cardboard cutout get knocked down by the bullet as it flies through the front window. This all happened around 2am on Monday, June 16th at the 7-Eleven on Pacific Ave. S. in Spanaway. Beforehand, the shooter was inside the store roaming around, talking to some people, looking out windows -- possibly waiting for somebody. He has some interaction with the woman in the pink, where she messes with the back of his grayish camouflage vest at the register. Then, he buys a pack of smokes, heads to his truck, immediately fires the shot and quickly takes off. "We want to get this guy to find out if this was intentional or an accident,” says Det. Troyer. “If it was intentional then we've got a big problem. We've got somebody who has some issues when you're firing a round from inside a truck through your own windshield. If it was an accident, we still want to know what led up to it and how this came to happen." Detectives think he's white, in his mid-30`s, around five-foot-five, with brown hair. He was wearing a camouflage print vest and gold chain. The white pickup truck he was driving is described as a late 90's or early 2000's Ford F-150 with a tunnel cover and chrome rims.
