FOUND! Help reunite this retired sailor's ring with its owner

FEDERAL WAY -- A woman is trying to find the owner of a U.S. Navy ring that her dogs dug up in the backyard of her south Federal Way home.

Alexis says she doesn't know who the ring belongs to. Now, she hopes the power of social media can help her return the ring to its rightful owner.

The ring says "U.S. NAVY RETIRED" on top.

On one side, it's marked "CV63." The other side says "USN PAO."

"CV63" stands for the USS Kitty Hawk, a ship that was decommissioned in Bremerton in 2009.

A Q13 FOX News Facebook fan told us that "PAO" likely stands for Public Affairs Officer.

Alexis says the retired sailor's ring has an encryption on the back that someone could verify.
