PORT ORCHARD -- The teenager who fell into the Ohanapecosh River in Lewis County and drowned on July Fourth was identified by his family Monday as Josh Osborn, 17, of Port Orchard, who attended South Kitsap High School.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office said the teen was taking photos of the river at about 9:30 a.m. Friday with friends when he slipped in and was swept away. His friends tried to reach him with a stick, but he disappeared downstream near a whirlpool with a fast-moving chute.

Searchers from Lewis County Rescue teams have not yet found Osborn's body.
