Police: 'Rolling gun battle' injures 1

SEATTLE -- Two cars engaged in a "rolling gun battle" created chaos on the roads Sunday night in South Seattle, police said.

Police were called to a report of two cars' occupants firing guns at each other while driving fast near Rainier Avenue South and 46th Avenue South. The suspects shot at each other until a passenger in one of the vehicles was injured, police said, and the driver of that car lost control and crashed into a nearby bus shelter.

The driver removed the passenger and ran to another vehicle. They drove to Harborview Medical Center, police said, where the man wounded with the gunshot was treated for his injuries.

Detectives are interviewing the suspects and looking for information on the other involved car.

Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call 911.
