8 homes threatened by 400-acre wildfire in Central Washington (PHOTOS)

WENATCHEE -- A brush fire that started early Sunday morning grew to about 400-acres near Wenatchee.

According to Chelan County Emergency Management, the fire started at 2:15 a.m. above Skyline Drive and is burning toward the Saddlerock Trail System.

Officials said the fire was 90-percent contained by Sunday afternoon. Eight homes on Skyline Drive remained under a level 3 evacuation notice.

Crews feared winds could pick up late Sunday.

About 100 firefighters are at the scene, the Wenatchee World reported.

The Saddlerock Trail System parking lot is closed, so that firefighters can stage their equipment.
