SEATTLE -- People are wondering if the "Great One" wants to bring a National Hockey League team to Seattle.

The New York Post reports Wayne Gretzky has joined a group of investors to do just that.

His group is one of three looking to bring the NHL to the Pacific Northwest.

No word yet whether Gretzky's group is eyeing an expansion team or hoping to move a team here.

League Commissioner Gary Bettman visited Seattle in May, but so far he has not said the league is ready to expand.

Gretzky was part owner of the Phoenix Coyotes for nine years.

In 2011, he was part of a group that tried to buy the Toronto Maple Leafs.
