FORECAST: Big cool-down tomorrow

SEATTLE -- Cooler air is pouring into Western Washington, helping to cool down area homes after yesterday’s record-breaking heat.

The onshore flow will strengthen tonight and tomorrow, dropping daytime highs to 70 degrees.

By Friday, morning clouds will return, but afternoon sunshine should allow for highs to get a little warmer.

Friday night looks dry for the fireworks shows across the area, but the marine layer will start to settle into place shortly after sunset.

The weekend will see a slight warming trend, with highs closer to 80 degrees.
