EVERETT -- Two people were critically injured when a stolen motorcycle crashed at an Everett intersection Tuesday night, police said.

Just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, an officer on routine patrol approached the intersection of 75th St SW and Hardeson Road and observed a motorcycle collision that just occurred, police said. The officer immediately rendered aid to the riders, a male and female, and called for the Everett Fire Department. Both riders were critically injured and were transported to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center.

The identity and ages of the riders are unknown but both were adults, police said.

The initial investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Hardeson Road and speed may be a factor in the collision.

It has been confirmed that the motorcycle was stolen, police said, adding that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
