Woman killed after tree falls wrong direction, lands on her

Lights and sirensSEDRO-WOOLLEY — A 62-year-old woman was watching workers take down a tree in her yard Sunday morning when it fell the wrong direction and landed on her.

A crew was hired to remove the large tree from the property on the 1400 block of Butler Creek Road.

The tree did not fall in the planned location and the woman did not have time to get out-of-the-way, according to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office. The tree fell on the woman and killed her.
