Shots fired at deputy's cruiser in drive-by

Shots were fired at a deputy's cruiser in an apparent drive-by shooting.



KENT -- A King County sheriff's deputy's cruiser was shot in a drive-by early Friday morning, police said.

Luckily, no one was injured. Police are looking for the suspects.

According to Kent Police Department Commander Jarod Kasner, dispatchers received a call around 3:50 a.m. Friday of shots fired in the 26000 block of Lake Fenwick Road South in Kent. When officers arrived, they found a King County Sheriff's Office cruiser parked at a home that had been struck four times. The home was also hit.

It was unknown how many people were home at the time of the shooting.

Police said the vehicle appeared to be the target of a drive-by. However, police don't know if it was specifically targeted or if it was a random act.

The Kent Police Department is handling the investigation.
