Yakima County officers find 'Smurf' hiding in a chest in Toppenish

CAPTURED June 21, 2015 --  High-violent offender Javier Diaz, also known as “Smurf.” was found hiding in a chest in Toppenish by the Violent Crimes Task Force, DOC officers, Toppenish PD officers and Yakima Co. Sheriff's Deputies. He’s previously been arrested for stabbing a man. Diaz was wanted for breaking probation after letting his little brother get his hands on heroin he left in the house. WANTED IN YAKIMA COUNTY June 27, 2014 --  High-violent offender Javier Diaz, also known as "Smurf," is on the run in Yakima County. He's previously been arrested for stabbing a man. Now, Diaz is breaking probation for letting his little brother get his hands on heroin he left in the house. The 13-year-old boy smoked it and got dangerously high and sick. When police arrived, they say Smurf was trying to give his brother CPR but took off out the backdoor when he saw them. His brother survived and Diaz got caught and convicted for it. Javier Diaz is 24-years-old and has several tattoos, including the ones you can see on his neck. The Yakima County Violent Crimes Task Force is on the hunt for him and believe he is still in Yakima County. He has ties to Yakima, Wapato, and Toppenish.
