Firefighters use unique rescue technique to free stuck puppy (PHOTOS)

BAKERSFIELD, California -- Kern County firefighters were faced with a unique rescue situation Friday afternoon that required a delicate touch and some creativity.

Firefighters at station 41 in East Bakersfield were called upon to extricate a puppy that got its head stuck in the middle of a vehicle rim.

The puppy and the rim were brought to the Victor Street station by a local resident.

Using cooking oil and a little ingenuity, firefighters were able to safely free the puppy.

Firefighters posted the before and after pictures on their Facebook page.
