COPENHAGEN -- Earlier this month, 1,000 chili aficionados -- or otherwise crazy individuals -- joined together to eat 1,000 of the world's hottest chilies.

The crowd took part in chili cook and Danish entertainer Chili Klaus' massive experiment to feed 1,000 people the the Ghost Chili -- the world's hottest chili.

The Ghost Chili -- known as the bhut jolokia -- is from India and is rated as more than 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce. In 2007, Guinness World Records certified the Ghost Chili as the world's hottest chili pepper.

Why would people take their time to eat the world's hottest pepper raw? Who knows. But some don't seem to happy about their decision after the fact.
