SEATTLE -- A 23-year-old man could face vehicular homicide charges after a truck he was driving in a rural gravel pit hit an obstruction and rolled over, killing a passenger who was standing out of the sun roof, Washington State Patrol said.

Around 8 p.m. Monday, four young men were in the a car in a rural gravel pit off the C-Line Road in the Capitol State Forrest near Olympia. The man standing up with his upper body through the sunroof was killed when the truck flipped. The driver and two other passengers in the car were not injured, troopers said.

Troopers arrested the driver on suspicion on vehicular homicide. He is in the Thurston County Jail, officials said.

It is unknown if the driver or any of the passengers were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
