Police: Mob of teens try to rob shirt off 16-year-old's back

SEATTLE -- Police are looking for a mob of teens who tried to rob the shirt right off another teen's back Monday night on Capitol Hill.

According to the Seattle Police Department, a 16-year-old boy and his friend were approached around 9:30 p.m. Monday by four teenage suspects on eastbound E Pine Street near Broadway. The suspects asked the two boys questions at first, police said, but suddenly demanded the victim give them his shirt. The victim refused and one of the suspects hit the boy in the back of the head.

The victim and his friend ran away to a nearby gas station where the attendant called police. Two of the suspects were caught at a business in the area, police said, and booked into a youth jail for investigation of robbery.

The victim and his friend did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police are looking for two outstanding suspects. Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is asked to call 911.
